Downloaded this, and had my brother and friends download it on their Origin account as well. Figured we'd bring back the golden days of CNC LAN'ning. Got the LAN patch up and running. Only to find out the Origin version of RA2 still uses serials, and apparently uses the same serial for every copy for every account.
The game connects just fine over LAN, but it won't allow any Origin user to join the game of any other Origin user. Now, I still have my old multi-CD copy lying around, so I actually got a legit spare serial, and wanted to input that in the registry under HKEYCURRENTUSERSoftwareEA GamesSerial/CD-Key, but there does not seem to be a registry entry for the serial. I subsequently checked HKEYLOCALMACHINESoftware%, and all other possible locations (the Origin version of RA2 seems to create quite a few registry folders), but to no avail. There isn't a serial anywhere to be found! Has anyone else found a workaround using the Origin version of RA2 yet, or has had better luck finding the CD-Key registry entry?

Don't people dual-boot anymore? I haven't done it since WinXP & Vista, but what I don't get is: Why don't people dual-boot their newer operating systems with their older ones, especially when -internet forums are sprinkled with Win 8 & Win 10 incompatibility problems -HDDs aren't that expensive these days so you have the choice of buying a larger HDD and partitioning it, or separating each OS on an individual drive -If you're unsure of how to do it, there's always Google and YouTube and computer forums and friends and. Is there something I'm missing? I don't get why people don't do it. I understand with Win10 being a free upgrade, which makes it tempting to replace your old OS rather than installing both, but people have always made complaints about their new OS not doing what their previous one did, ever since I can remember (from Dos - Win 95, 98 - XP - Vista.). All serials are written without the dashes between number sets. Nope, they're not there. Not for the Origin version at least. I got it as well, but I got other Origin games installed too, so if it's sequential it might differ per account/machine. I haven't tried out whether this works, probably won't have the time today either. It's only one serial though, rather than two separate ones for RA2 and Yuri's revenge.
I wonder whether that'd be an issue.

For Yuri's Revenge, repeat these steps for RA2MD.exe Black screen with switchable graphics This occurs when the game engine tries to render in VRAM.
To fix this, download and extract the ddraw.dll and aqrit.cfg files into the RA2 folder, where ra2.ini lies. Next, ensure that only these settings are set to '1' in aqrit.cfg: FakeVsync = 1 NoVideoMemory = 1 Alternatively, simply download and extract the contents of into the RA2 folder. I deserve some help from the support team Olaf you messed with the original files then you're the responsible of this issue, i request a fix, and hurry Your serial is registered in the xwis control panel, which means that your xwis stores your game serial code NOT the actual game. The XWIS client only uses the serial key that was used during the installation of the CD version that it was created from.
Meaning that the serial you used on the xwis game account has no association with your actual game installation. If you wish to play on LAN you are required to use a modified WOLdatakey file ( which you can edit in the notepad ), to 'randomize' your serial. (some registry keys might be required, but I haven't done full research on it yet to say for sure.). I still didn't get it, how to edit the serial from the key generator to my legit serial number? And Martin, i've already said that xwis version comes no wordata file, but in this case there is a solution: 1.) Hit Start 2.) Hit Run 3.) Type Regedit 4.) Find HKEYLOCALMACHINE and click the arrow to the left of it. 5.) Find SOFTWARE and click the arrow to the left of it 6.) Find EAGAMES OR ELECTRONIC ARTS click the arrow to the left of one till you find command and conquer red alert 2 yuri's revenge.
7.) Under one or both of EAGAMES or ELECTRONIC ARTS you'll find that now click the arrow left to it and find ERGC 8.) Now to the right it should have your CD-KEY. You can now change it.Just click it twice it with popup and allow you to edit it. 9.) Once done editing hit OK then close out regedit.

You should be now good to go I don't want to change edit registry mostly every time we play 3v3 or 4v4 games, i need a permanent solution.
